    Description

Aprilia RSV4 slip-on custom motorcycle muffler. This started out as a Moto Guzzi Norge 1100 muffler modified like a work of art, to slip onto the existing pipe on a 2016 RSV4. The Muffler cost five hundred, then a hired a high end welding shop for eight hundred, to cut and reweld the pipe clamp slip coupler. A custom aluminum bracket was also fabricated so the muffler could be mounted onto the rear foot peg mount on the RSV4. The bracket is designed so the rubber grommet off the muffler mount on the RSV4 can be used. The end result is a custom stainless steel muffler that fits the RSV4 perfectly. The muffler looks awesome on the bike, everyone thinks the RSV4 came with it on. After putting the new muffler on the RSV4, I took the bike to the Aprilia dealer that I bought the bike from. The mechanics at the shop were amazed at the fit and finish. After the master mechanic took the bike for a test ride, I asked him to Dyno the bike and tune it for the new muffler. The mechanic said there is no need to retune the RSV4 because it ran perfectly with the new muffler. I trust the mechanics at this Aprilia dealership because they have their own race team and really know about tuning high end bikes. This muffler was used for 5,000 miles both on and off the track. Riders at various tracks commented saying they never heard such an amazing sound when the RSV4 hits higher RPMs. At lower RPMs the muffler is quieter than stock. The muffler is a big improvement over the stock one and runs cooler because there is no catalytic converter in it. After looking at other small after market muffler options and talking to other riders, I came to the conclusion that most after market mufflers available, are flimsy junk. This muffler is built from the highest quality stainless steel and has a large expansion chamber giving the engine exactly what it wants for optimal performance. Engine braking characteristics when decelerating into a high speed curve are amazing. I sold the bike with the stock muffler. Changing between mufflers takes a few minutes and a couple wrenches.
